Rendering on painted stone

I have had a job come in sand and cement rendering on a solid painted stone built wall it does have quite recessed pointing and the point is stuck 100 percent was just seeing how you guys would deal with it thank you for your help ian

EML Or cut the paint up with a grinder or smash it about with a kango. Which whatever provide some kind of mechanical key.

Some sbr in the scratch coat won't go a miss.

You oh will now get loads of stick for not usin lime render on the stone to allow it to breath.

For a proper too job use K rend hpx and bed mesh

Internal oh,galvanised rib lath or stud with gypline system then for sure.

I wouldn't put anything over this other than a hi polymer or a painter base with mesh and pins.
