Need some suggestions for what material to use and preparation for going over painted pebble dash. It's not an option to chop it off. Some of the paint is flaking but rest is hard. Customer wants plain SC render.

But parex only works at 6mm for better adhesion suerly it will be over a good 10mm

I doubt that is correct,6mm isn't a viable answer

not only should you not render over painted pebble dash but you're asking how to do it?
you defo shouldn't be doing the job pal........ poor customer about to have their home fkin train-wrecked by a chancer, shame we don't know who they are so the professionals on here can warn them.....and shame on the cnuts on here for advising him as well

If you can send me some photos of the project. we can advise best solution moving forward. Whilst taking old render off is the best solution before applying a new coat, we understand that sometimes its difficult to do so, for various reasons.
