Hi there just a quick one a builder has asked me to supply rendergrip and apply to a painted brick wall before rendering it.just wondering has anyone used it on a painted wall or shall I just insist on sbr slurry thank you dominic

I've used it before on a very small area on paint and it's still on,wouldn't use it again for that but it's just because I had it at the time and was on a tiny garden wall.

Render grip is a product by ever build I think, I have a tub in the van, only used a bit and it seemed ok.

expensive though, I think micro goes further and you get more for your money.

I have used it.although it's not meant to be used over paint.for use on engineering bricks, concrete or similar.
The risk is yours to rake

What ever render you use wether it's s&c or mono,it's a lot of weight on the wall so whatever product you use your taking a gamble for sure.
I only use a thin coat system over paint now
