Render Breath

Hello lad's

Is a render of sand cement lime i.e 5.1.1 is that classed as a breathable render. been having a little dig around cant seem to find the answer. Cheers

I'd it contains cement it's not classed as breathable in the true sense,

which brand/type of cement is better breathable wise if there in such a thing ??

using cement in render stops the breathability(stronger the mix .further away you are from a breathable mix )

if you need a breathable render for say rendering stone or old brick then use hydraulic lime (nhl 3.5)and sand ...you can mix your own or buy prebagged(k lime for instance)
