have an external render job to do and its going over existing plain render which is cracked but solid and impossible to come off,so what is the best approach rendagrip or sbr,thinking of render coat,fibreglass mesh,and its a dash finish,thanks

with a dash finish you will have a lot of weight hanging on a lightweight key.

there is an external paint on the market for cracked render, BDEC, you don't fill the cracks just let the paint fill them. i have seen it done with good results, the only crack that came back was the crack that had been filled.

i would go with a mechanical fix on this normally but open tp new ideas
