evening all got asked to re skim a porch which is block wall old browning backing plaster skimed then painted shall I just pva and crack on or is that totally the wrong thing to do ?

If the browning and old skim is sound I don't see why not.You could fix insulated plasterboard on where applicable for a nice cosy job.

If the paint etc is sound and it is just emulsion then yes crack on

PVA or a pregrit like wickes bonding agent would be fine
