Had to take some plasterboard off in my conservatory which was put on using dot and dab to replace pipework to radiators.

While i had this off ive decide to run hdmi cables etc to a tv on the wall so ive ripped the rest of the plaster board off and intend to replace it using battens fixed on to the wall so i can pull cables through in the future if need be

im reading conflicting opinions that i should insulate the wall between the battens or not . im going to use either 19mm or 25mm battens

before i proceed to fix the boards on can someone give me a definate answer.

I would use thermal I slated board min 50 mm,dot and dab and mechanically fix when set or use battens and screw themon, set them at 400 centres

If u wanted to insolate the wall more then put it in if the wall is double skin it would already have it

Thats what i thought the wall that its goin onto was the rear of the house which is double skinned as you say.theres nothimg else that i need to do before boardin up is there ie damp proofing etc

No just fix yr batts making sure on the plasterboard edges there is a batten aswell other wise when u skim it will crack leave a gap at the bottom where it meets the floor

Cheers cplastering already had the battens fixed onto wall with a gap off the floor just wanted to confirm before ploughing ahead
