nice to see you,to see you nice, now i have your attention, little down on my luck(sob, sob),but wh of you guys, and doll,s have ever used rated people.com.i undstand it costs £15 per month, but no ever having used it before, whats the pro,s and con,s(if any at all)come guy,s dont be shy,and remember,,,keep dancing:RpS_lol:

For 15 pounds a month it's not to bad, I go on there when I'm quite if Thers a decent job il buy it an price it, I seem to get about 2 out 3 quotes from there. But I only have a 5 mile working radius I tried a larger radius but didn't work as good for me! The trick is reading the ad properly, if they have taken the time to add measurements and pictures it's more than likely they are serious and not time wasters also you can check the postcode and time the job was added I stay away from bad areas and also jobs posted late at night! Hope this helps you out and good luck

lots of other options out there and yes £15 may be worth a punt but its not the be all and end all :-) as a complete package you need to do a wee bit more :-)

Rated People, MyBuilder, MyHammer, Trustatrader, .... ad infinitum. Leeches.

Plan ahead. Put an add in the local rag a few weeks before you're down to nothing. Don't leave it to the last minute. Put adds on Freeindex, Yell, Gumtree, etc all the free directories. Get Danny to do you a website and link them all to it.

Rated People etc. might work for some. But the formula's old hat, now, and needs changing. An average of £30 plus vat to go and quote a job, against two other blokes. That's a nice £100 for the outfit whether any of you get the job or not. Needs mixing up a bit. A Pay as You Go type formula with a membership fee. The customer posts the job, tradesmen can send their contact details, the customer shortlists it to 3 tradesmen, if you DO get the job then you pay for the lead and a small commission on the overall price. If NONE of the tradesmen get chosen NONE of you get charged.

agree with u there only the man who gets the job should pay because i found a lot off the jobs are small and not worth it and if ur paying for jobs ur not geting that adds up makes the job u do get worth fucf all

I think it has all been said on this subject charante, Jurek summed it up pretty well although when you are desperate these sites can seem so appealing, I think that is why they have done so well during the down turn.

Just out of curiosity, and being relatively new to the Forum, why is Spunky a knob....? Seems to be everywhere..:RpS_unsure:
