Use plastic all the time on render now switched from metal a while ago, you gotta take a bit of care getting the drip bead straight cos they tend to bend a bit more than metal.

do plastic drip beads bend around bay windows concave rather than convex ?

Wouldnt have thought so - I always cut the angle and get them to join up
