Hi,

I'm looking for a price for someone to replace a collapsing lath and plaster ceiling in one room (listed building so it needs to be replaced not boarded over).

Room is 4.6m x 3.1 (about 2m stud).

To keep the price reasonable I can remove all the old lath and plaster if necessary - please mention if price includes me or you taking the old ceiling out.

Thanks

Why are you removing the ceiling to replace with the same? cant you leave the laths up? what about collecting all the ceiling crushing it up and remixing it then applying it?

Thanks Irish but ime to busy at the moment and not sure i fancy wacking lime plaster on ceilings anymore. A4C there is a firm in Stanstead Abbots that specialise in that kind of work ile look for them and post it.

I didn't realise you could recycle the plaster and/or reuse the laths... suits me if that's the best way of doing it (I know nothing about plastering as you may guess).

Thanks Lucius, I look forward to receiving the details

Ahh, I didn't realise that was the company name, thanks for the clarification. Will give them a shout.

Other suggestions welcome as I'd like to get a couple of prices.

Thanks again

agree with you twitcher, pulled more than enough ceilings down over the years, try to avoid pulling laths off a4c until a plasterer arrives .
