Pressure plate clogging up

Hi all, Last 2 jobs when spraying Mono weve been getting wet and dry spray coming out of the gun. Weve dismantled the rotor/stator(new) and noticed a large dry build up around the stud on the base plate therefore only leaving a small hole for the mix to pass through. Every time we fire up we start wet and then spray as wet as we can only for the above to start happening again. Could the pressure plate be knacked?.
Cheers for any replies.

The stub in the bottom of the pressure outlet flange could be worn, when new if you put a straight edge across it the stud should be around 15mm below, when it's worn up to 20mm, you know the man who has them in stock, he trained you Andy.

That'll get you out of trouble short term but if it aint done with a hard facing rod it just wears quickly, you need a cast replacement, they last a long time.

High miles or some serious dry spraying for it to wear? Makes sense though as the rotor screw winds are out of position with the rubber ones so like a worn stator with no or unpredictable pressure. Simple fix

Cheers gang, To be fair we did spray stiff when we first used the machine a few times and this rotor and stator is brand new so a pressure tester and base plate going on order asap.

he did say on his post that the R&S was new, its more than likely you need to look at who ever is cleaning the machine out, after you have removed the hose after cleaning out the machine , just run it again for a couple of seconds to make sure all material in the r&s and plate has been removed, What my labourer will do is connect the air tube from the spray gun to the water hose and stick it inside the pressure plate giving it a good wash out, this will keep the spray nozzle nice and clean and also make sure theres nothing left in the pressure plate.
