pointed blockwork

hello got a house to render and skim but the block work is all pointed like face work instead of being raked out just wondering do you think it will crack on the joints after`

Spot on artisan998 , personally I would scud/splatter coat it first with sbr in the mix,
some will recommend
rendaid but I am old school

Apparently compressing the mortar makes it stronger/less porous..
