Plastisizer or hydrated lime?

Do you guys use lime when rendering or plastisizer on its own?
I used lime on its own today with s&c and didnt think it was very plyable.
What quantity of lime would you use with a belle mixer filled to the neck?

I will use lime if on a larger job but generally use plasterciser cos I carry it round in the van.

Cheers Zig , I would normally use liquid plasterciser but thought id try lime today instead and used about 3 shovel fulls for a belle mixer and could hardly push it up the wall :-[

Il use both tomorrow on the top coat , what about quantity for a mini mixer?
Is 1 shovel full enough.

5.1.1 then 6.1.1 should do for most applications, Donrt gauge it by the mixer full or the shovel chances are the mixes will be all over the place get a nice clean bucket and level fill it for each product to gauge in the mix, you will notice the difference i recon

Thats what I used today , the same as cement and it seemed to be nearly unworkable ??
