Well, just finished my first day on the course, and feel I have learned alot more than I thought I would.

The tutors are well knowledged and a good laugh. ;D

Some of the things covered today were:

Standard and reverse grips.
Hawk and twowel work.
Drywall techniques.
Dot and Dab for drywall.
Patchwork.
And te beginning of skimming.

All in all a good day realy. I would recomend the course after only being on it for 1 day. 8-)

Can't wait for tomorrow. :)

Hey nice one mate, you'll soon be skimming like nobody's business!!

Small tip when skimming ceilings mind your eyes - the lime in the plaster dont half sting!!

Keep us updated dude!

Craig.

lol dont stand under your trowel.... works for me

glad you are enjoying it..... I was out pricing today, thats harder than skimming any ceiling.

also wet plaster on the floor is dam slippy done many skydives off my crate (sorry hop up) cant use crates anymore... against health and safety.

good luck with tomorrow

Danny

Another good days work. ;D

Plastered the ceiling and walls today, learning to use open and closed trowel to get a flat finish and then a trowel with a paintbrush to get the smooth finish.

Learning more than I thought I would in the short time I have been there.

8-)

Sounds good mate! Are you mastering all your new skills? What else have the shown you?

Finished the course today. Not a bad course realy.

Covered most of the basics, skimming, re-skimming, Artexing, Bonding coats, Rendering, Repairs, Plaster Boarding, Angle beads, correct mix ratio's, Correct grips, Open closed, reverse, standard etc.

Had to plaster a wall and ceiling at the end of the course, and the results were good Imho.

I can now achieve flat smooth walls and ceilings, so I must have doing something right. ;D

Hi Cainy, hope this isn't too forward but can I ask roughly how much the course cost? That was a 3 day course right?

Just that I'm thinking of doing one but I can't find one up here is Scotland and I may have to include hotel/b&b in the cost.

cheers
