Hi All,
This is probably a very basic question to most of you, but i am going to plaster a doorway. I have boarded it over and sit about 4 mm below the existing plaster. i dont want to try and do the whole wall, but i do want to make sure the joins from the new plaster to the old plaster are good. Could you please give me a few pointers.
many thanks

try chip about 2ich old plaster scrim all way round doorway so you can scrim tape over the joint all round .brush some pva round the edge of old part you chipped of and old plaster you can blend it in then this will help slow the suction put first coat on let that pick up pretty firm then apply second coat trowel in blend in to existing area brush well round the edges with water.

Hi Mayti
So in affect the skrim will go from the plasterboard to the undercoat where i have just removed the 2inch old skim?
Thanks
