Hi all,
I'm going to have a go at creating a faux oak beam from a rsj in my kitchen.

Please could I have some advice on how to achieve this.

Do I board the beam/bead then create the effect after a couple of coats?

How do I get the effects in the plaster to make it look like oak?

Any help would be great

Youd be better off cladding it with laminate flooring. Look just as gash but take less time.
