Hi all, just wanted to run this past you,am in the process of renovating my 1930.s house. Have plasterboarded the ceiling o.k,but not sure the best way to patch up walls after removing loose bits of plaster & chasing channels.Have scraped off loose paint down to the white wash,& am planning to fill holes after pva with bonding. Then seal walls with stabilex or similar & skim with easy fill.Sound like a good idea ? or any suggestions thanks Peter.

Sounds like you're doing a lot of messing about on those walls Peter.
If the walls are in that bad a state, take it back to brick and start again would be my advice.
It can be just false economy re-skimming over old plaster if it's in a bad way as no matter what preparation you do,those random hairline cracks will start appearing.
Remember.........you're skim coat is only as good as the background it's going on.
