Is maite there equivalent to rendaid?[/QUOTE

No Dave , but you could use it like that, just expensive, use their Microgobetis, can apply up to 40mm thick over that, if you struggle to get old of it then you could modify the first pass off mono with lanko latex ( like a scratch coat ) or just get a cement based pre rend , like rend aid etc

Thanks, they sell the microgobetis for £37 inc VAT at the merchants i use. Does that sound reasonable?

Good stuff that micro-go, couldn't scratch it off.

No way could i get the parex on 18mm in one pass though, does it even need to be that thick?

Might try to source some 10mm bead and belcast, or even just use stop bead.

Do it in two then, but it does really need to finish 15mm min unless your using a base render, imo

Yeah i did, had to leave the scratch for a few hours to pick up. Just that i've read some people on here getting it on in one.

Do you mean rend aid or similar when you say base coat?

when weve gone over it we first pass and leave it an hour or so, then top it. but one pass is a bit much for it, especially if u like to spray a bit wet

Danny even if you use 15mm just put it on thicker at the beads

Cheers i'll try that Dave.

The worst part where it was sliding was at the bead though. Might just scratch a trowel width either side of them next time to build them out and then, like you say, bend the wall in from them.

Everyones using dab adhesive too stick them too mate, one problem with 15mm though is there's no play especially around reveals you can end up 18-20mm at either end if the Walls not plumb so Id still stick with 10mm for angles

dab adhesive? :-0

We were actually advised by what I believe the leading monococouche manufacturers rep to use dab adhesive
