Oil based paint

Evening. Got a job to do with parinter over paint. Now been told the paint could be oil based. If it is oil based would going over it with a grinder to key it up be ok?

Wants mechanical pinning aswell as.
Do a stress test with it you’ll then know either way.

Cheers for the response owls. Going to try and get there tomorrow do a burn test. Homeowner thinks its oil based but not sure. Hopefully water based. Cheers

Put a square foot on with mesh, Let it dry, if it pulls away from the substrate it wants pinning.
