Hi, I'm Rick I'm a plasterer from Lancashire, been doing it to long to remember.
Then one day I woke up and found I had moved to Cyprus and 6 years later I'm still plastering here.
Man was it a learning curve! but hey mostly the weather is great and i don't have to dash anymore!

Anyway hello to everybody!

I have a website Richard Kendall not spam!!

Hey where abouts in lancs you from i'm a Colne lad myself near the home of the mighty clarets Burnley!

I'm from Burnley!
I make a once a year appearance in Colne for the Blues Festival, usually just go back for the whole of august, it's 40c + every day here so no chance of working.

It's s**t!

I managed to land a whole pallet of multi finish last year it was like heaven!
tbh it's a different world to what I was used to back their.

What a small world, am working in burnley tomorow preppin a rendering job on tod rd across from towneley park, glad to hear you make the pilgrimage to colne for the blues it is a cracking weekend:RpS_thumbsup:

January has been a write off, it's been one of the wettest on record, rained more last month than the whole of last year and feb hasn't been much better so far.
Cold as well, frost in the mornings, the world is going mad!

I'm a fair way from the north, like Burnley to say Birmingham, it's good to get up their though, drink some of that effes beer!!

Well mainly I just work for punters, 46 i'm to old for site work it's a young guys game, plus syrians and lebanese do that stuff for like 30 or 40 euros a day!

Like I say it's a different world here,
Render for example (everything is rendered here) you don't start with a scratch you use a process know locally as πρωτo χερι (proto cherry) it translates literally as first hand, but its a grit sand and granite mix at 1-1 with cement and you throw it at the wall kinda like dashing, it sticks like ****, you want to try knocking the stuff off, because it leaves decent size peaks you can get a lot of render on so can pretty much get any old crap wall as flat as.
Render goes as as per then we have a thing called τριτο χερι (trito cherry) which translates as third hand, it's pretty good to use once you have sussed it out.
it's like a really fine sand and cement finish, you can't trowel it up, but you just bang it on and get it flat then fire another on pretty much straight away then rub it up with a huge flat sponge, you just get used to working on the shaded side of the house.

Things have been pretty slow keeping up here tbh, when I first moved here you could buy plasterboards but couldn't get finish, you can now though and you can get knauf pink.

Music wise, my band at a gig, me with motorhead t-shirt on

Would you like a gig at Maryport Blues Festival, end of July?

Thanks it would be a cool enough gig, but would be impossible, the cost and loss of earnings for the band etc etc.
Flights are €300 a pop at that time of year, so that's €1500 before you even start to think about somewhere to stay and all that..

I thought as you come over for the whole of August it might have been an option to come a few days earlier. A lot of the bands get put up for nowt in folks' houses once they've proved their worth :RpS_thumbsup:
Where's my head, that's you coming over in August, not the whole band lol.............not thinking reet marra:RpS_thumbup:
