just had my quote betten,

large living room with 2 firplaces.. all in woodchip..
customer will strip paperr.. alot of wall area already sounds blown.

so iv priced for a patch up and skim walls and ceiling with an extra £210 if ceiling needs overboarding (large)

my quote was £1070 me and a lab.. full carpet protection. no parking! ect ect

he had a quote £650.. its got to be at least £150 mats? who the hell works for this?

well not me any how told them if they accept polish prices to be carefull about parting with Cash until the job is signed off!

i do get a bit jared off with losing work.. not cuz iv lost it just WHY? any how dont linger on the ones that got away hey.

iv just done a quote for a fair size living din room but only has the one fireplace.
walls have been stripped of all paper and paint and are sound to skim.
includes an over board and skim
i have got in 3 days for this 2 for walls 1 for ceiling
£800. inc mat
mats £100 £700 for me thats £230 day.. :)

well look at it this way i guess
day 1 set up sheets , prep (hacking off blown areas) maybe alot here lot of rubble to bag up,, bead out back out wba for the next day

day 2 skim the 2 ceilings dived by a steel. maybe some of the steel 2 ..
day 3 skim most of walls

day 4 skim rest of walls and big tidy up

thats about £230 a day after mats

lab is on £50

it could take longer .. there could be more damage than we expect..
its crap parking.. and we have just skimed the bedroom 4 walls and a ceiling with bondingout for £320 days work?!

we are also busy lol but im always learning and im fed up of being stung for prices that turn into long hard days.. i feel we should always make are £220 a day plus any extras for the fact that's it s domestic and its dealing with custom and atm every customer seems to be a (french word)! working are ass off all week and weekend.. not for (french word) all any more i say.. average £150 is fair cop i say.. after taking away all my insurance van cost ads i pay out.. ect..or not?

bags id say urm 3 on ceilings and 8 on walls and maybe 4 hardwall/bonding.. carpet protection.. marking tapes ect.. rubble sacks.. taking rubbish away! urmm scrim bond it.. what ever

and after a job like this there is allways alot of cleaning dust and putting all sockets back in buying longer screws ect.. so work is work but not for less than a standard rate

Me and my mate can do pretty much any living room in a day (skim only) lets add in another day for hack and patch and tidying up afterwards (which I cant see it lasting that long tbh)

Thats 2 days plus gear @£150

Maybe this room is naughtier than that, but I reckon a grand is over priced, hard to tell properly off the description.

urm id say about the same mate.. its all on customers.. we win every time on quality as well have a good side come with nice cards.. name on shirts.. nice vans.. nice quotes.. 4 Page fully explaining what we will do and a few clips of what we have done if they miss the web site.. with an option to lower price if another quote comes in close.. so one on one we always win.. if they are after the cheap quote then we will never win..

Oasis out of say 5 quotes how manydo you win, i aim for a 3 out of 5 ratio on average.

I f*ckin hate pricing a job and not getting it, cos I hate driving there and wasteing my time.

u and your other spead or other lab?

2 ceilings and 4 walls yes but load of bead to set otu walls to prime .. we do any bedroom in a day with prep.. 2 and a bit sets a day with prep and 3 with no prep.. ceiling you would only do one at a time 2.5 3 hours each..
either way i know it may be a 3 day job if you work ur ass off but i have started to charge or alow more time l8ly as we are very busy and just dont feel its worth the graft atm

so say im £200 over at the most.. the jobs still a good un maybe even better by having more time

this one lady iv just done over 4k worth for she turned into such a money grabbin bitch and trying to make me do thing clearly off quote i refused to do any more work for.. i popped in today to grab last payment and had a quick look at the last few bits finished by some1 else as you do..

well omg iv never seen such a poor attempt couldn't believe it.. beads hanging out 3 or more mill over the next scrim clear as day bead wings hanging out.. and NO joke the skim looked like it was layed on and then never trowled again? im glad maybe when she comes to paint it she will see what she was getting from me!

mate stick to your prices ;) after all the fooking around a prep on that one, your at a good price..
is it like this ,,this was a full board out and ceilings and board out all the fireplaces on my own 8 days £2100

I've got to be honest I'm not suprised you got beaten. You priced yourself at 180 a day oasis. Enough said. If I priced a job to that rate I wouldn't wait for a reply

Its always someone going to be cheaper some of the time, if he is not paying for a new van, shirts, expensive cards he can afford to be.Just stating a fact there , not having a poop.I have been both ways on this myself.

yes same sorta thing abut there was a lovely under the stairs to do to.. nice job there.

god i could never work on my own again! train um good and your life will improve lol

Depends on how fast you are though mate.

I can bang it on when I need to mate believe me and I always leave it to a good standard but the fact of the matter is I'm not willing to go in at stupid rates because I think I'm worth it. People just don't want to pay anymore

i dont get why price in a labourer, you can mix up just as fast on your own and save your self £50/60 once they mix up they just get in the way and fook around on there phones >:( .
if im on a big job id rather just pay for another spread :)

pro finish that work looks well tidy fair play

first few days on that one was ok! but by the time i boarded the whole room, lintil, and all in the fireplaces i wanted to go, :D

Priced up the godstone job post. Came in at £1500. It was all painted brick work, undercoat in hardwall. Finish in multi. Loads of angles and fidly bits. Large kitchen, 2 16m2 rooms, small toilet, patching in living room. About £300 materials, so £1200 labour, 2 men, 4 days. Someone quoted £600 all in in. Carping quoted under £1000. Said I'd have it if I went in at £1100. Dropped to £1300. Never heard back
