Just went and cut my self 2 new tops for my stand from a sheet of ply.
my last one was water proof MDF that come with the stand!!
Do you bother to coat it with anything or just wet it down and stick your gear on it???
Im thinking may be couple of strong coats of PVA to seal the wood first
Some one said something about rapping it in metal :RpS_lol:

Maybe wba or sbr rather than pva?something water proof anyway. Ply has a nasty habit of delaminating

By waterproof MDF I'm guessing you mean the sheets with the green core?
marine ply is your best bet as anything you apply to the board may flake off after a while.
