so I went to site today to price up some coloured render and the builder says that there’s another chap who’s pricing some sort of a system with metal mesh and thin top coat troweled on to a stipple affect.
Anyone done or heard of this system?

Maybe he was on about sand and cement with metal lath finished with highbuild :)

Think he has got to have misunderstood about the metal.

It sound like fibre reinforced base coat with a High Build type of plastic coating.

Yeah I thought that and tried explaining it but he said it was a cheap way of doing it.
But surely a coloured render would work out much cheaper?

I cannot see how it will be cheaper. The thin coat render is not cheap nor is the synthetic finish.

Is there more of a board that is fixed with Metal lath in it and then highbuild onto?
Sounds like it’s not so much as a plasterers job by who’s doing it!
