Looking at buying a nail gun but wondering if they would be any good for overboarding.Would they punch through layers of board and into joists.

Welcome mate! What thickness is the metal in the boards? If it's under 10mm you are better off with colated screw gun. I have hilti and it's the nuts. If the metal is over10mm then use the black cartridges , again with hilti gun mate!
