nope but feel free to tell us all about it,thinking about looking into it for next year, what machines are you using ,what sort of prep works needed to backgrounds, how long to recoup money spent on machinery,is there still plenty of work for machine plastering

our boss has one fook knows what it is but does the job ......ive used it only on mono (webber) ......i can see why lads specialise in using them cause it's alot quicker but half the time we end up laying on by hand because were not doing huge runs
i was thinking of buying a ritmo for h/wall ........but it's dying a death and im skint anyway......who knows might take the plunge one day

i used to spray monocouche with me old boss, ive started me own business so dont get to do it now, i might get the odd little job that can go on by hand. Given the chance id buy a machine tomorrow.

we had knauf out the other day on site they got this new product cant remember what its called but it a ready mix bag of gear you cork out the joints and beads spray one coat 1 day another coat another day and sand it down the next day its like a marble finish 5k for the machine and 15 quid a bag of gear

they say a 2 and 1 gang will do 1000m2 per week but looking at it u will need alot of square meters in front of ya cant see it happening in this country we are miles behind the rest of the world plus he said a firm in london was doing it at the moment and the price for doing it was £1.30 m2

they just slagged off british gypsum like they always do sying there plaster wont last forever etc etc how there board finish was getting s**t cus there adding more s**t to it cus the gypsum is running out

tommy

it was either deco or plano the gear in the bag, machine plastering is the way forward boys , saw a demonstration today using a ritmo spraying their mpfinish and its the nuts ive been using machines for about 5 years and would never go back to hand applying

if youre selling them youre sorted ......at 1.30 spraying finish and sanding it down would kill the game it'll be a labourers job .....and thats before we start cutting each others throat

really interested in this anyone thats sprayin a job ,im prepared to come for a couple of days for nowt with labourer ,plus 20 years exprience on trowel, only price is beer

might be spraying a job in northwood (near watford) will know for definate by tomorrow its an external thincoat system
i do a bit of that how do you get on with a machine mate ,much quicker?

im only spraying the base coat and on this job it should be a lot quicker as they are nice sized areas, last job i did it wasnt worth spraying as it was all small area with loads of that cedar cladding all around it, but all of my work is rendering doing scraped finishes and its piss easy with a machine, a couple of years back 3 of us sprayed 210m2 of weber in 1 day and was all finished by about 4 and that was with 1 machine

managed to do 80m2 of weber by hand this year on a gable end 2 labourers +2 spreads, started at 8 finished and scraped by 5,absoulutly b*lloxed ,see why we want to get into spraying

not in the finish there isnt but krend do a couple of types of material that is made for machines and some that wont go through a machine, you can either hand apply or spray their machine material but the other stuff is hand apply only, an 80m2 gable with machine and 3 people would take about an hour or so to put on, you could even do it with just 2 of you but 1 of you would be running up and down bagging up

mainly used machine pft g4 light for machine renders , takes all the donkey work out of the job, wouldnt even try and put a small job on by hand, easier to get machine out, done various internal work with knauff, hardwall, and british gypsums one coat, dont like knauf dont think its up to british standards, find bgyp seems to cream up better on the sponge up, and feels more like spreading skimming, but everybody seems to push for knaff,

im guessing u can only spray on site as domestic wouldt be worth it.. with painted celings skirting carpet ect..and guess u need a long run and no small hallways?

but i have mate an there s**t,as much as you lads try to push em theres always gonna be work for traditional spreads, but hey if machines are the only way you want to go fair play.

when did you last see it because it has been improved alot and i am a traditional spread mate

went on a course 6 months ago, doubt if theve got much better since then!

you can get the whole room on only got to mask windows and if you use dtack masker it takes minutes

now now , lads stop argueing, you have to work with machine for a while to appreciate what they can do, not just watch a vid and say bollcocks,

im with grand on this one, saw the ritmo being demonstrated on tuesday spraying finish and was suprised at how tidy it was, as grand said i know (from experiance) that i could mask up an entire room with d-tack and poly (thats if the floor needs covering) in about 25 mins, they are also doing spray plasters that are premixed and do not require any water making them even cleaner, im also a traditional plasterer, but im not going to be left behind in the dark ages

has the ritmo gone up in price or have the rest gone down its not far off a pft g5 super ....demand i suppose?
