I know where your coming from. I've stated before some lads (once they can skim a little wall or what ever by themselves to a good standard) think they should be on top whack and feel short changed on the money you pay them etc. ungrateful little shits!!!

@jmk - if your local college does plastering contact them (I'd pop in to see what the muppets look like first) they might have one or two good blokes

Why not pack in your day job and go with @jmk full time...that's what he's offering

Tried the local college route before apparantly I need employers liability to take one of them on ,at the time I priced some up and it was quite expressive.

Yeah I reckon they would don't really learn that much at college + we have on site assessments for quals now, cheers mon

Thanks for getting back to me . But personally age is irrelevant as i am willing to learn and hard working very reliable and also new to the trade and am very willing to learn all aspects of this trade

I did a bit of teaching years ago, most of the trainees just wanted to get out and work with a spread to get proper hands on experience, I gave a few a go with me...that separated the wheat from the chaff and made them really think if this was the career for them. A few quite quickly changed courses (but they didn't have the right attitude for anything).
One bloke I remember had ADHD - he couldn't watch a demo on plastering for more than 2 minutes before having to stand up and walk off somewhere...poor chap I thought, until one day on my way home I got stuck in a traffic jam, I saw him sat in a pub beer garden - beer in hand and the coont didn't seem to have any problem sat there for well over 15 mins...the next day at college!!!!!

If I new it was worth it i definitely would it what I want to do its just my job at the moment is steady but secure I got a mortgage so the money would have to be something near to what I earn otherwise it's not worth it and I currently pay for night school so it's something I do in my own time the plastering but I'm really enjoying it our teacher is on site through day and with us at night, so weekends would be ideal to pick up the pace and get the experience in

Trouble is you'd probably not be surprised how many teenage sons don't want to be out the house doing any kind of work.
When they can lay about all day eating endless bowls of cereal and sandwiches spanking off to day time tv and their lap top porn.
While parents spew "ooooh well things are different !!!! It's so hard for them" !!
Fuk me have I missed something???
Life's always been hard !! Was struggle for me and my parents and grandparents it's called "LIFE" !!!
We are breeding a nation of wet molly coddled T***s!! Amen.:estudioso:
