Leaving water marks behind

Hello people's. Can anyone help me out.
I've noticed recently that when I'm doing my wet trowel I seem to be getting water marks left behind. No matter how maney times I go over them they just won't go. I'm assuming it because I have slight hollows in the wall. I am not laying on thick enough. And will it show up when painted. Thanks guys

I think you mean fat marks. You haven't made it flat enough and the fat is filling the hollows in your work.

Don't worry about it. If it paints up right then the job is good.
