is it best when skimming a wall to lay the plaster on, in a straight up and down motion, or in a slight arch motion. cheers

a always lay it on and arch it at the top a find it better to do that plus most plasterers ive seen do it aswell

christ ive seen a photo of your work...its extremly tidy...why on earth are you askin questions like that? you know what your doin..you tell us! ;D

its nothing really, but i looked on you tube the other day and this guy was lying on straight up and down and it made me think, also ive never work with another spreder, so i think i need a bit of reasuring :'(

or maybe youre refering to physiological methods...in which case i think an arch is easier on the joints i.e. a sweep...

i used to do the same thing..robot fashion...it gets a flat wall on very even, you can tell just by lookin at it, but ive since realised that if you let your arm do what comes naturally to it it saves energy, concentration and joint wear...
take a look at 'whats the big deal about startin top left' thread
