I've always been spec'ed to fully mesh over lightweights. Then again that's when we were using rendaid for weber pral m, I know the hpx is full of fibres does mean it doesn't need meshing??

yes what i was on about above. a change in spec needed

not sure why builders wanting render still every now and then build with lightweight block ? the mind baffles

Yeah the render needs to be softer than the block.

We were recently speced S&C externally on 4 newton thermalite. I told them it needed expermetting or mesh but of course they knew better (didn't want to pay).

Needless to say it cracked and blew in places even with a 6:1 mix. Still got payed though....maybe they'll listen next time.
