Is this acceptable?

Hello we have recently had lots of rooms in our house skimmed. It seemed ok to the touch once dry and we left over a week of good ventilation and hot weather before painting. We have put the first coat of a water based primer/ undercoat on and noticed that the walls are looking quite ripply as seen in the photograph. We are disappointed as we were experts smooth finish and don’t want to continue the expense and time of painting if it needs to be rectified. Will this look better once painted or should we be expecting more from the plasterer? Thanks.

That's a terrible finish!!looks like skim over artex? You must of been able to feel that running your hand over it! Are you using good quality roller aswell medium pile, and thining the paint correctly??

It would of looked better if he used a sponge especially if timing was Rhight! At least it would of being flatter!

I’m sorry @Mommybear05 you have had a real duffer
That looks like a learner first, maybe second wall?
If a third attempt is like that then they never gonna pick it up without heaps of babysitting which even the father can’t be doing with his own son in a firm let alone a normal employer employee relationship

lol fkin sponge :risas:

It would've been flat if he knew how to use a trowel correctly.
Yes you got to know how to use a trowel. But timing is Rhight try it no need to flatten like a mad man fuk your wrist up. If works and make your life easier y kill your self. Like Churchill said y stand when you can sit and y sit when you can lie down!

You should be removed from the forum for sponging multifinish
