insulation and render

alright all, well i've got some rendering to do on my own house probably next spring now but here is the problem the 1st floor has tongue and grove which i will remove then we have timber up rights which normally i would fix any addtional timber in place and then eml it ready for sand and cement smooth finish but av been looking at the insulation boards that can be fitted but can these be fixed to timber work? and i guess that i can't use sand and cement on any kind of external insulation boards so it's gonna be the bagged render which to be honest i've never used it and have little knowledge of it .

Can't see why you couldn't insulate between battens building paper riblathe it then sand cement

no you use lac spunk or hpx then again what the fcuk do i know
