Hi Guys,

Would really appreciate your help, I have a good size build of 200m2 approx and they have asked for render and set.

How many sq meters does a tonne do? And how far does cement go? Haven't done it in a while and cannot for the life of me remember. Is it the same as outside render 35m2?

Bearing in mind scratch coat obviously first before coming back and ruling.

TIA

That will depend on the state of the block work . Thickness of the casings if the back boxes are sunk deep enough ect .

7 bags of cement to a tonne bag at 5 - 1
Just get 5 tonne to start with and see how you get on, you'll know when you're coming to the end how much you need to finish it

the baged sand is only 3 quarters of a ton.
if the floating is 12mm thick , 6 ton of sand will cover 210 m2. you need a little extra to allow for waste.

I thought it was 850kg , just saying

Thanks for your help guys, appreciate it

Block work is very good but haven't had any comments on the back boxes, as long as they're not too deep should be okay.

Would I also need waterproof in scratch and top or just scratch?

Obviously leave a few days before plastering but could anyone also tell me do I PVA? And will the plaster go off very fast as there are some decent size walls

why would you need to scratch coat first mate.

you can skim following day

30/35m for bulk bag depending on thickness
water proof wont do any damage except skim take ages to set.

I've seen it done both ways, scratch then two coats and ruled and I've also seen three coats?? And ruled.

When you say ages what we talking? Normal cold board setting times or like one set a day because of hanging?

40m2 a ton 7 25kg bags of cement. Don't use waterproof

in this weather with water proof your talking long long gauges mate.

Long gauges for plaster or the s&c sorry? As s&c I put on till 12 and wait and float.

Would you suggest just two coats of s&c then?
If I were to leave it for a week or 2 and come back will it not go off quick?
