topic says it all, just wondering how long members on here been plastering and were there any memorable (be it funny or embarrassing) moments you will remember or just want to forget

Been in it bout 6 months now, retrained due to redundancy and got in with Chunkyboy to learn the trade proper, still a way to go but getting there slowly. Good teacher is a must, and i got a good un with old chunk.

As for moments, we were doing a big ceiling and i wondered off the end of my hop-up and landed in the waterbucket. An 18 stone dunking fooking hurts like hell! :D :D :D

been skimming since march april-ish and still loving it...... i havnt done much rendering but got some garden walls to do in the spring for a mate... cant wait to get stuck in.

he's a pic of the mixer bucket spilt all over a customers bedroom floor....... something id rather didnt happen. ha

At least you had tarps down matey... could have been worse!!

Troweladdict, how did you explain this to the customer and what was there reaction, think i would have died on the spot

lucky enough...... every one was in work. good job because i was swearing my head off. so i grabed the corners of the tarps, wraped the in to a ball and threw them out the window and the dust sheets soaked up water dripping of the tarps, thank f**k i used tarps eh eh.. because if didnt i would of been in the s**t.

u live and learn ha

Left school a few months before i was 16..2 days after i left school i was out working just learning the basics. Now 20 still enjoy it and hopefully do til retirement.

Im in the trade 8 years now , was in a dead end factory job before that doing shift work i really hated it then did bit of roofing with my cousins, couldnt listen to them so got the chance to start labouring to plasterers on a site near hand ,my first day was grand i liked it the second day nearly put me off for life ,we had to dash bout 4 or 5 cable walls ( nearly f##king killed me) luckily enough i stayed with it just went out on my own there since last xmas and getting on not so bad but im finding the works getting harder to get people cutting prices isnt helping.

been general labouring for all trades on and off for 5 years.
but been plastering apprentice for last 18months.

24 years in the trade , not really enjoying it anymore , Dib and dobbing have killed the game but still like outside renders ,dashing etc
