My self iv been goin strong over xmas and untill last week, just have about 2-3days a week at the mo for me and my lab. but iv been quoting like crazy since 2 weeks ago witch is a good sign! hoping it will all kick of next month as all my Ads and new website is set to go out :)
 
Things slow here too,done a few quotes recently but after tommorow got nothing on,and only 1 day booked for next week also.But cant complain as havent had a day of since new years day,and before the 2 days i took at xmas i was flat out for nearly 7 weeks.
 
f**k all at the minute. waiting for some plans to be passed before we can continue on this job we were last on. that will be 2 or 3 months work. not all plastering though. then in march there should be a block of flats ready and then once that site gets going we'll be on and off it for ages.

I've been dropped in it this week, was booked in to finish off this farmhouse for next week n half but the sparks not turned up so got called off last min by builder, like 4.15pm on Friday that pissed me off!!! Left me dangling this week, got couple of jobs for next week, priced a few waiting on call backs, then in couple of weeks got two developers booked me for 6 mnths work, just bounce off them and my own work plus do work for local builder....Happy Days! ;D
 
off now for two weeks got a render job to do then and reskim 4 bed after that :'( hopefully this jersy job will happen bo u a years work 3 tower blocks of flats and a few houses fingers cross if we dont get it i will go and get a fake passport and re enter this wuoderfull coutry and scruonge
 
Never mind the fake passport, just get down dole office n put on daft accent n tell em your name is something 'ski' n they'll sort you out! Works for our eastern friends! :D
 
nah iwant the full experiance the bit when they catch me and see im only here for one thing and they hand me paperwork with you are free to go and take what u want from this country pick ur house tell us how much u need and u shall receive one one condition umust vote for this man and they show me a piture of gordon brown

is that the company (dotanddabplastering.com) who were the cowboy firm parked in front of the external rendering job u were going to do? Ur post got moved shortly after u posted it. Name and shame em I say

been s**t since xmas only had enough work for me got the lads back in tow now on 3 different job tomoz and the phone is ringing again so happy days
 
I'm so so each week is very different at the minute. Plus everyone is dangling carrots at the minute which i F*****g hate
 
same here barryed ive got offered a fair bit of work mid feb/march and have had the old ok ill save you a spot ???.......dont want to let anyone down but i've got a feeling some better work will turn up but could be completely wrong .........just say yes to everyone and have to drop people or um and ahh about it and end up with nothing ???
 
had 2 shifts this year, cant buy a job just now, bad weather has put all my jobs back./glasgow area..feel like jeremy kyles best mate...
 
I does my head in when you are speaking to them on the phone and it's " yeah it should be the end of this week or maybe start of next at latest" then the next week its the same s**t and so on. Why cant they just say it will be a month or so and let you plan something then for the meantime
 
Ive been busy all month and have enough for the next month , havent seen much of jeremy kyle this year and that really suits me :)
 
got bits n peices on but had a couple of spreads on the phone this week looking for work dont seem to be too much about feel bad saying i cant help them out but the bits are only just keeping 2 of us going,seems like theres gonna be alot of extentions going on this year tho had the nod on 3 already.

it's great stuff that steve,
had a few ceilings to over skim after the customer had used smooth it over artex & f**k*d it up.

We are very busy too, insurance work for a builder loads of burst pipes over Xmas, floods & a few fire bombed houses in a lovely part of town :eek: where I'm working at the moment, lovely people too ;D
But as long as that cheques there at the end of it, it's work ain't it ;D
 
The phone aint stopped ringing for me the last couple of weeks.But i would say half of them calls want some thing for nothing :mad:

this is so true had a job 2 look at

strip all lining paper of walls

overboard ceiling
skim 4 walls and ceiling

paint and decorate walls ceiling and woodwork MRS fussy

she said any idea yet i said no i will go home work you out a price and post it.

she said its not going to be a 4 figure is it!
 
Sitting idle now priced 3 insurance jobs but havent heard anything yet ,most spreads i know (west lothian area )
have got hardly anything either ,hopefully things will pickup.
 
I was very busy last year but this last fortnight i have hit a brickwall I have only a couple of days going forward right now. So in the words of the great sir Alex Ferguson its squeaky bum time for me right now
