Hi all,
just a quickie to say hello and introduce myself. Came across this forum completely by accident when looking about how to go about a job (building a decorative rendered frames around windows and if it was possible). Needless to say after viewing a few threads this seems like an excellent place to get some genuine trade input.
I'm not a plasterer or even trade but through sheer lack of money have renovated our first 2 family homes and somehow have found myself in my 50's now in the unfortunate position of having to do our third and hopefully last last renovation!
The house in question is a 1905's semi, which once we started to do cosmetic jobs, we have realised we have bought the turd splattered mouldy lemon of all properties! The only thing not wrong with it is at least it doesn't have subsidence (we think)!
Anyhow I have no doubt I'll be spending many hours and days trawling the forum looking for answers and guidance. I've no particular plans to plaster or render myself (although have done a bit in my younger years - no doubt would make you all laugh your t!ts off), but merely to get an education/understanding of what's involved in particular jobs, so I can get accurate pricing from those in the trade and a proper job done!
