good evening, i have recently baught an old bungalow and im trying to do as much work as i can myself,i am ok at plastering walls to a paintable standard that i am happy with as i went on a 6 week plastering course in 2011.
the problem i have is when i plaster ceilings i seem to get marks from my trowel and struggle to get all the water marks or fat as my dad calls it this is especially a problem in the middle areas of the cielings ie;near the cieling roses, this is very frustrating as i dont have this problem with walls as when i wet it i bring my trowel down from the cieling in one continuous motion but with cielings i seem to just move the "fat" around could anyone give me any tips please thanks in advance Nina

Fat I'd caused by too much water.... ceilings are harder to plaster than walls because people think they should be...

Keep your tools clean and don't rush and you will find it all comes together...
