Hi fella, I've not heard plastering described as veneers before, but it's a great sales term, especially for folks who know nothing about it.
"This quote is from a plasterer who will skim my wall at £X, but this other guy is a specialist who will apply a plaster veneer, and it's only a bit more pricey - lets go for him." Not sure it'll always work over here but might on rendering quotes.
