Hello, figured I'd join for the informational purposes. Plasterers apprentice for 2 years now, in Local 514 out of Detroit. Decided to become a plasterer after painting and doing drywall and plaster repairs with inferior products(joint compound) for the previous 13 years before the union. Anyways, ive been browsing to find everyone's opinion on trowels, currently have a couple standard marshalltown and was interested in purchasing a new duraflex in hopes that it has a slight bit of flex but not too much. Also wanted to know opinions on permaflex if it's worth it to buy for a final trowel on a surface or whether its just a gimmick, most of the guys ive work with also speak highly of curry trowels. Are there any other brands out there that you recommend? I'm quite interested in learning venetian finishes as a niche skill, are there any specific vendors located in the United States that sell venetian products that you prefer to use? Anyways, thanks for the add. Looking forward for the knowledge!
