Hairline over all walls

Hi all,

Very new here to the forum and plastering. Took a short course to help with the 1965 house I just bought. House was old prison officer house and walls are THICK.

Took all the wallpaper off in three rooms and hairline cracks over all the walls. Not in small sections, the whole wall, in every room. Most cracks look like a pencil line, but all are quite small.

No hollow sounds, actually very solid in every room.

Do I Stanley knife, fill, sand & paint?

Or other?

Any suggestions appreciated

I would fully mesh embedded into skim coat not 100% reliable but will save knocking off
