hi guys. Question regarding grounds.

I have a wall to plaster.
Partly brick which has been hardwalled and them skimmed.
Partly plasterboard ( new )

Where the plasterboard meets brick
The face isnt flush ( due to skim coats on brick )

Ive taken back the skim so the wall is pretty flush now.
Scrim applied on all

Given that..would this be suitable

1. Pva the old skim coat and anything not plasterboard
2. Bonding over entire wall
3. Skim coats.

As the bonding coat doesnt need to be thick..
What ground would be suitable.. 5mm seems the most id need
Thickness wise.
Or is it easier to just apply without grounds
And level off with a long straight edge
And if thats the case..how?

Thanks guys.

Just being nosey, pva like you said then bond the side of the wall that isn't flush then skim it to rule it get a straight edge lay the bonding on then rule it up and across using the existing wall as a guide

One of yours.....I'm sure you could pay a craftsman to come and do it for you then, spread the cash and keep the industry buoyant:rolleyes)

Oh, indeed.

Ive been practicing before even going near any real walls!!
and I'm not there yet.
But Ima' keep going..

You'll be pleased to here then, that a plasterer is booked in for next week to plaster the wall for us.

Economics is my area.

I built a mock up wall and board it - practice skimming/bonding etc
rip it down - and so on..

slowly making sense..
