Working on a referb 3 storey house ,ground floor ,first floor spec double board ceiling with 2.4x1.2 12.5mm glasroc boards,builder says they need pva,i've skimmed over 6mm glasroc didn't pva them,any one skimmed over them and he's saying you skim the rough side

never pvad glasroc F. you skim the side with the circle impressions on.

only ever seen them tapered and jointered, think the shiny side is what gives it the fire rating.

As malc says there's no need to treat them scrim your joints and skim away.

I've skimmed em in the past no problem

use loads of glasroc multiboard and Firecase, and you always skim the smooth face, no PVA required as the product has been treated all ready to kill the suction. If you skim the back of the board i.e. the rough face you will get cracking and delaminating problems.
