fire rating

What systems are out there for steels?
Iv been told that British gypsum fire boards arnt fire rated its the system on/around the steel that gives you the burn time?
this was said by a BG rep quoted from there White site book..
can any one help on this having a bit of a fight with the site gaffer over boarding steels or double boarding ect :RpS_cursing:

double board gives you one hour or use the 15mm fireboard, you could alternatively use fire intrumescant paint

It should be down to the architect to give the spec not the guy fitting it.

This link says 2 layers of 15mm fireline to achieve 60 minutes.

I thought it was 2 skins of half inch. :RpS_confused:

i was always led to believe 1 fireline or 2 layers of ordinary half inch gives you 60mins

This is what i thought too, aint ever had a building inspector complain about one skin of fire boards being fitted to walls of garages in timber framed houses !

Glasroc boards are good for lining steel for fire resiatance
