Morning
I,ve a property that had a fire in the bedroom
I'm overboarding the ceiling.
The walls need re plastering.
I was wondering if I could bond or hardball the uneven parts then skim finish all the wall.
Would the soot come through or should I board the wall too.
The walls have been cleaned with sugar soap .
Regards
Paul

I asked just this a couple of years ago.

The answer was back to brick with it

My missus's place had a fire in the bedroom before she moved in. They went back to brick, she's just stripped the walls to redecorate 20 plus years later and their mint. They also reboarded all the ceilings - then artexed them!
