Hello all
I've just starting priming a job that was base coated last week and as I was applying the primer a saw a few very fine cracks up to 200mm long .
I've stuck and pinned the 100 mm boards as I should have and applied the first base coat and mesh and the second coat three days later and sponged with very little water.
The base coat is Jub jlm20
Anyone had small cracks before?

We trowel finish.

Any reason why you waited 3 days yo slurrycoat?
Am.i right sayingnit went off quick?
The 3 day wait was I had to do another job.
I normally bed the mesh in on the first coat and give it a tight coat followed by another coat the next day.
And yes it did pull in quick.
Is there a better way of doing it? Am always looking for advice

The suction may be too high going on dry meah coat.

We slurrycoat same day or next day on winter if need be when still green. Tight 1mm coat trowelled on
So you get it all flat and smooth ready for priming in one go unless it's cold.
Do you spray your top coat on?
I find putting top coat on by hand more forgiving than applying by machine
