i 've just bought a cement mixer and was wondering if there is anything i should or shouldn't do while using it. cheers

Dont overload it cos when they fall forward onto you they hurt trust me. had to learn that one when i was an apprentice ::) ::)

Because guaging render in buckets is as near as you can get to batched material, that is to say every mix being the same strength and colour and so on,
For plain render i would use 4:1 scratch (4 buckets washed sand 1 bucket cement) 1 cup of waterproofer every bucket of water
top coat, 6:1 (6 buckets washed sand 1 bucket cement) 1/2 cup of feb every bucket water, make sure the buckets contain the same amount of material level to the top.

don't belt it with a hammer to clean it out. what did you get? belle 150?

if the shovel gets trapped in the mixer let go or youll break youre wrists or youre teeth ;)

Nice tip about guaging render in the buckets!!

I use to clean mine with either bricks or gravel but I have been known to set them alight too that works a treat!
