Hi
We've recently moved into a cottage in Trewern near Welshpool. The construction of the original cottage is solid stone walls with 60's / 70's brick-built extensions on either end. The central cottage had previously been internally cement rendered and was experiencing damp. We have hacked this off back to stone and are considering our options regards installing newlath-plasterboard-skim or going the lime route.

We are also at the same time considering our options for insulating. The internal layout and modest room size mean that our options for installing internal insulation are limited and so would like to consider the option of installing insulated, breathable renders such as dithionite evolution or Bauwer Lite. The central cottage is aproximaely 2 walls of 10mx5m, we don't know whether it's possible to render just this part of the house or whether the extensions would need to be done at the same time.

Grateful for anyone interested to contact me on markgoves@googlemail.com
