just a quick one, does any thing need to be diferent with regards to rendering with a larger chipping beqause of the size and weight of the chippings?

hello and welcome to the forum
Your receiver obviously needs to be firm enough not to slump under the weight off the chippings but soft enough to receive them correctly and negate any suction before you cast your chippings

I think that just about sums that one up.

Just make sure you cast face on to the butter coat, start casting at angles and you will distort the butter coat and end up with a mess .

lay your bed coat about 8-10mm as compared to a thinner bed for smaller chipings. they need to bed in to hold them in place
