doing a job in an old cottage where plaster has blown. The old boy had it done two years ago by a pole who hacked off and floated on brickwork with bonding. Theres about two inches to float and the bricks were bonded using lime mortar. I thinking about using eml, then sand and cement render 4:1 with waterproofer. Is this the best way?

you should just rake the joints out mate, it will be cheaper than eml and just as good

yes it is cheaper but i wanted to strengthen as well. The guy already blown money by getting someone who done it wrong in first place. 8)
