Did you walk straight back out? r******d some people, plus the other trades will have said shouldn't you be getting the plasterers in first. I bet the customer even said Ner they coming next week hahaha! Whoopers!

the cost of protecting everything will easy go over £200

Yeah sometimes its best to walk away from jobs like that - especially if you say its gonna be extra in time/ materials to sheet up and they say no...

All it takes is an accident and your then working for free etc ...

Been there, new floors 125 pound a square metre ,then we have to hack off, float and set, excuse often is if we did not get these specialists in now we would of had to wait months, mmmm

Sheeting up toke 2 hours this morning then removal and clean up. same tomorrow. 2 day job now 4 day me extra money like f#*k chinning it as per.

The usual scenario is pricing empty rooms as above but then the rip,off skirtings arkithraves ,chase for wiring ,pull out windows etc and think its the same work !

Had one today, put dust sheets down in two rooms over 3 floors , all stairs was sheeted up to , everything was going good , bonding was starting to harden up so thought it was time for a cup of tea. **** knows what the client had done when i was gone but im sure it was the bloody fox trot judging buy the bonding footprints all around his house

Priced a kitchen ceiling up all board work done by the customer. Half days work, charging customer full day, turn up and he had put these rustic looking 2x2 beams in!! couldn't even get my trowel in, plus he wanted me to tape beams up!!*****.

im doin a large job at the moment proberly about 3 months worth in old barns and all 3 barns have these beams on ceilins and walls and all flat areas have to roll into the beams, a killer amount of work but a lovley job to do

Used to work for a bathroom company and most of the time they would wait until nearly completed to get me in to skim the lid ffs, and wonder why im moaning about trying to skim lids standing in poxy shower cubicles with big fancy shower heads and climbing in and out of new baths on top of that most of the time they would want to carry on working in there with me, 3/4 men in a bathroom is a bit G**. Rant over.

hate working in a crowded room sometimes it gets soo crowded i have to put a jonny on just incase

Yeah fuk that shoit...............I bet the w4nker that 'organised' it wasn't working in the room. I tend to bin jobs like that :RpS_thumbup:

People do not get that we need room, at the very least a decent sized empty room. You need to bite a lot at times, much prefer refurbished to private work, or the next best thing working for someone either in the know or the nous to listen to me.remember we will be blamed for all and any damage, dust , spills etc, price accordingly, I was asked once to return to a happy customer who wanted a patch done up stairs , I told them the cost they were not happy, they thought as I had x amount I would do it almost free, I explained its three floors up on new carpet, I will use new sheets, take the rubbish away and supply what's required. The imagine we have a magic bag and in it is everything for free.
