sorry lads im out of touch ......i used to give my employer my cis card and he deducted my tax and gave me vouchers .......has it all changed?.....do i need to reapply to get a number and whats the crack do we pay our own tax or is it took at source ?

its still took from your employer its exactly the same spunky, u need your utr number which is the first 10 digits on your card i think, or its on any letter you will have received from the tax office

Napper is right mate just first ten digits or so on you old card then the contractor has to verify your status, and if you been a good boy he should only deduct 20% from labour only, so if you invoice for a job you need to show mats and labour separately

If you were working on an employed basis since before April last year, I think you will need to register for the new CIS. They will probably give you your old number back, or as napper says, the first 10 digits of it.
